Emagic SoundDiver. By vcASS » Wed Jun. Computer science with c2b2b class xi by sumita arora pdf download. Of course I meant to be asking for sound-DIVER not driver. Took forever to find a copy of the PC version. Sound Diver and XP by on 2007-11-24 09: I have an old POD (pre 2.0) that came with a CD that has Emagic Sound Diver software on it for deep editing of the POD parameters and access to the 12 'bonus' amp-models that aren't accessible on the POD itself. I never used it because when I purchased the POD (can't remember the year) I didn't have a computer. Now I'd like to give it a try. My question is this. Has anyone ever tried using Sound Diver on Windows XP with any success? If not, how else could I go about 'deep-editing' my POD? I have an M-Audio Radium 49 midi controller that I could use to hook up my POD to my computer. I checked out Emagic's web page and it seems that the were purchased by Apple and stopped making Widows based software in 2002. Re: Sound Diver and XP by on 2007-11-24 13: Cool, thanks brother. Through the deafening noise of the crickets comes an answer:-). So am I right in my thinking that I should go ahead and download Sound Diver 3.0 from the Line 6 web page rather than trying to install it from the CD that came with my POD 6 or 8 years ago? I'm assuming the answer is yes. Can you please help me with another question? I consider myself to be a 'midiot'. That is, someone who knows only enough about midi just to get the job done and then move on (i.e. I can use the softsynths in my DAW). Right now, I have an M-Audio Radium 49 midi controller that's connected to my computer via USB. It's got two midi jacks. There's a 'Keyboard' out jack and a 'USB' out jack. See link to product manual below Will either of these jacks work for me to hook up my POD to my computer or will I need to hook the POD up seperately with something like this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Re: Sound Diver and XP by on 2007-11-24 13: sorry about the duff info earlier. I thought line6 edit worked with all early PODs. Anyway, yes download the sound driver form the website, it may be an updated version from what you have. I had a look at the M-Audio manual and based on the introduction, it looks like it's just a midi controller keyboard. This means that it would use MIDI to control other devices (the keyboard MIDI out) or your PC could control other devices (USB MIDI out), but as there's no MIDI inout, yout POD would not be able to send info to your PC. The yamaha device you've linked to 'should' work, but in my experience with line6 devices, some midi interfaces work fine, some kind of work, and a few don't work. It's generally okay, but slightly hit and miss. The sound driver may be different (I have never used it) but the more recent line6 hardware and software usually has no problems with the m-audio uno, which is the same price as the yamaha one you found: I can't guarantee it will work, but I can't think that I've heard anyone saying they've had one not work with line6 gear (mine works well, and m-audio even has vista drivers so it'll work on your next PC too). Regards Rowbi. Re: Sound Diver and XP by on 2007-11-24 14: Thanks Rowbi. I think I'll give that one a try. Or maybe this one; Anyway, I'll let you all know how it all works out. As for my POD 1.? I think it's the best piece of gear I've ever bought in my life. Right now, I use it as the front end for a 1980's Peavey Renown 400 with 2x12's. I plug it directly in to the 'PWR AMP IN' jack on the Peavey, thus totally bypassing the Peavey pre-amp. How does it sound? I tell you something else. It's the best built piece of gear I ever owned. I can let an inch of dust gather on this thing when I'm not using it. Then, when I finally clean off the dust and plug it in, the pots don't even crackle. As for my Toneport, that's another story, but hey, I still love it. Thanks for the advice.
